It depends on the brief and the duration, but most engagements fall into one of three shapes: a fixed-scope diagnostic (4–6 weeks), a quarterly advisory retainer, or an embedded engagement billed monthly. We agree the shape — and the number — before signing anything. No mystery line items.

Both — but with intent. For early-stage founders, our work is closer to fractional CXO support; for mid-market and corporate clients, it's typically strategy, transformation or operating-model redesign. The common thread: businesses where the senior conversation actually moves things.

Yes. Tick the box on the form or mention it in your message and we'll send our standard mutual NDA before the call. We work with regulated and sensitive businesses regularly — confidentiality is table stakes.

The 30-minute call usually happens within a week. For a full engagement, two to four weeks is typical — we deliberately don't overbook the senior team. If your situation is genuinely time-critical, tell us in the form and we'll be honest about whether we can help on your timeline.

We'll say so — usually on the first call. Most often we'll point you to someone in our network who's a better fit. That's the long game we're playing. We'd rather refer you and earn the call back in three years than take on work we can't do well.
